Die Qatar Foundation (arabisch Ω…Ψ€Ψ³Ψ³Ψ© Ω‚Ψ·Ψ±, DMG MuΚΎassasat QaαΉ­ar) ist eine private Stiftung im Emirat Katar. Sie wurde 1995 von Scheich Hamad bin Chalifa Al Thani und dessen zweiter Frau Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned gegrΓΌndet.cite-ref-1[1] Den Stiftungsvorsitz hat seitdem Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned. Die Qatar Foundation fΓΆrdert Bildungs- und Wissenschaftsprojekte, wie beispielsweise das UniversitΓ€tsgelΓ€nde Education City bei Doha, auf dem sich verschiedene UniversitΓ€ten – unter anderem besitzen sechs US-UniversitΓ€ten dort Außenstellen – versammelt haben. Zu den gefΓΆrderten Projekten zΓ€hlt außerdem das Technologiezentrum Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), auf dem sich zahlreiche internationale Unternehmen zu Forschungs- und Entwicklungszwecken niedergelassen haben.cite-ref-2[2]cite-ref-3[3]cite-ref-4[4]

Am 10. Dezember 2010 hat der FC Barcelona einen Sponsorenvertrag für Trikotwerbung über 170 Millionen Euro (bezahlt von der Qatar Sports Investment)cite-ref-5[5] für den Zeitraum von fünf Jahren mit der Qatar Foundation bekannt gegeben.cite-ref-6[6] Da die Qatar Foundation auch als Geldgeber der Hamas gilt und Verbindungen zu Yusuf al-Qaradawi pflegt, stieß der Vertrag auf Kritik.cite-ref-7[7]
